O Rings

Mar 20, 2023

O rings is a rubber sealing ring with a circular cross section. Because of its O-shaped cross section, it is called an O-shaped rubber sealing ring, also called an O-ring. It began to appear in the middle of the 19th century, when it was used as a sealing element for steam engine cylinders.

O rings are the most common mechanical design for seals because they are inexpensive, simple to manufacture, reliable in function, and have simple installation requirements. O-rings withstand tens of megapascals of pressure. O-rings can be used in static applications as well as dynamic applications where there is relative motion between parts, such as shafts of rotary pumps and pistons of hydraulic cylinders.

O ring specifications and models mainly include UHSO-ring specifications, UHPO-ring specifications, UNO-ring specifications, DHO-ring specifications, piston rod O-ring specifications, high temperature resistant O-rings, high pressure resistant O-rings, corrosion-resistant O-rings and wear-resistant O-rings, etc.

O ring has excellent sealing performance and long working life. The working life of dynamic pressure seal is 5-10 times higher than that of conventional rubber sealing products, up to dozens of times. Under certain conditions, it can have the same life as the sealing matrix. The friction resistance of O-ring is small, and the dynamic and static friction are equal, which is 1/2-1/4 of the friction of "0"-shaped rubber ring, which can eliminate the "crawling" phenomenon of low-speed and low-pressure movement. The O-ring is highly wear-resistant, and has an automatic elastic compensation function after the sealing surface is worn. The O-ring has good self-lubricating properties and can be used as an oil-free lubricating seal. The O-ring has a simple structure and is easy to install. O-ring working pressure: 0-300MPa; working speed: ≤15m/s; working temperature: -55-250 degrees. O-ring applicable medium: hydraulic oil, gas, water, mud, crude oil, emulsion, water-glycol, acid.

O rings are the most widely used seals in hydraulic and pneumatic transmission systems. It is suitable to be installed on various mechanical equipment, and it can be used as a seal in a static or moving state under specified temperature, pressure, and different liquid and gas media. Our company produces high-quality O-rings, welcome to contact and order if you are interested.
