Polyurethane elastomers have good wear resistance. It can usually reach three to five times that of rubber and is called wear-resistant rubber. It is integrally formed through the correct process, and it will not be degummed after long-term use. At the same time, it is oil-resistant, water-resistant, and corrosion-resistant, and can be used in various working environments.
The main advantages of polyurethane elastomers:
The adjustable range of performance is large. A number of physical and mechanical performance indicators can be changed within a certain range through the selection of raw materials and the adjustment of the formula, so as to meet the different requirements of users for product performance.
Excellent wear resistance. Especially in the working conditions with the presence of water, oil and other moist media, its wear resistance is often several to dozens of times that of ordinary rubber materials. Although metal materials such as steel are very hard, they are not necessarily wear-resistant, such as large water pumps in the Yellow River irrigation area. The metal mouth ring and protection ring of its flow-passing parts have been washed by a large amount of mud and sand, and it will be severely worn and leaked within a few hundred hours. The mouth ring and protective ring coated with polyurethane elastomer have not been worn out after 1800 hours of continuous operation. Others such as husker rubber rollers for rice milling, vibrating sieve plates for coal preparation, track tracks for sports fields, dynamic oil seals for cranes and forklifts, elevator wheels and roller skate wheels, etc. are also made of polyurethane elastomers.
Polyurethane lagging also has certain disadvantages:
The internal heat is large, so the high temperature resistance is average. The normal operating temperature range is -40~120°C. If long-term action is required under high-frequency oscillation conditions or high-temperature conditions, corresponding modification measures must be taken in structural design or formula.
