Cold polyurea membrane for waterproofing and coating
Two component liquid, hand-applied pure polyurea to form a solid, aromatic, completely adhered to the substrate, seamless, without joints or overlaps, watertight and waterproof membrane to be used on new buildings or refurbishments. It can be applied by short-nap acrylic wool roll, notched trowel.
Construction method
1. Clean the base layer. Remove dust, oil stains, rust, and fill holes.
2. Apply GRT primer. Function: Seal moisture, block air pores, and enhance the adhesion between the polyurea and the base layer.
3. Use a brush or scraper to apply the first coat of GRT-6188 polyurea on the base layer. The thickness of the first coat should not exceed 0.5mm. When applying, apply it in a crosswise manner to expel the air mixed during the application and avoid the formation of small bubbles.
4. The first coat and the second coat should be applied at least 2 hours apart. The surface should be dry and not sticky to be considered dry. Avoid forming bulges due to incomplete drying of the first coat. However, it should not exceed 24 hours. If it does, apply a bonding agent between the two coats.
5. Apply the third and fourth coats using the same method until the required thickness is achieved.
6. Applying without force will cause bulges or bubbles. Please apply forcefully. If bulges occur, cut them off, sand them down, and reapply.
Construction conditions
1. Before construction, the base layer must be fully cured, the surface must be dry and the base layer must be flat and smooth; the metal base layer must be free of rust and holes.
2. The optimal construction temperature of polyurea is above 5℃.
3. During construction, the surface temperature of the base material should be 3℃ higher than the dew point to prevent water droplets from condensing.
4. The maximum relative humidity should not exceed 80%.
5. The construction surface must be free of oil, dust and other contaminants.
